Rotary has 7 areas of focus: peacebuilding and conflict prevention; disease prevention and treatment; water, sanitation and hygiene; maternal and child health; basic education and literacy; community economic development;.and supporting the environment.

Today, April 22nd is the 51st Earth Day and the theme is "Restore Our Earth" which focuses on natural processes and emerging green technologies that can restore the world's ecosystems.  More than $18 million in Rotary Foundation global grant funding has been allocated to environment-related projects over the past five years. Creating this distinct area of focus to support the environment gives Rotary members more ways to bring about positive change in the world and increase that impact.

Celebrating Earth Day serves as a conscious reminder of how fragile our planet is and how important it is to protect it. We celebrate Earth Day to continue promoting environmental awareness and to remind us that we can protect the Earth in our everyday lives as well. Let's be part of the change.
