Club News

Children are our most valuable resource and our future. Thursday, September 7th is the first day back to school and children will be out and about, so let's all be a little extra mindful of their presence. Happy Back to School Day.
Members of the Rotary Interact Club of Charles P. Allen High School presented a big cheque in June to Leslie Tinkham of the IWK Foundation. Funds were raised at their Believe in Hope Coffee House Fundraiser for Adolescent Mental Health, in memory of Alexis Fletcher, a former student of Charles P. Allen. Interact Club co-presidents Neela Virick and Madison Binder are holding the cheque. Bev Miller, Alexis' mom, was present to represent Believe in Hope and Patricia De Freitas, Interact Club Advisor of Rotary Club of Sackville and Area. Some Interact members and Bev Barker, Rotary Advisor, were absent today for the photo op, but we would like to acknowledge that their contribution to this great event was significant as it is always a big team effort! Great work!

Visiting from Japan, Rotarian Nathan Gildart, spent part of the morning with members of Rotary Club of Sackville Area for Coffee and Conversation in front of the Mosaics in our beautiful Acadia Park. Blue skies, Mosaics, alluring trees, flowers, and vegetation, set the scene for the exchange of interesting ideas, conversations and friendship. Good time had by all.

Canada Day Volunteers

Rotary Gals were up and at it early on Canada Day, helping Fultz House Museum with their annual Beans and Brown Bread drive through luncheon. Great day had by all.
 A legacy project Anniversary!

Can you believe that it is 5 years since the Mosaics came to rest in Acadia Park. Approximately 450 volunteers from our Community came to paint tiles which are the make up of our 2 mosaics - Two Great Roads and Acadia School. Many stories, many memories, much history and one even appeared in the international Pokémon Go Game. Take a walk through beautiful Acadian Park and enjoy them. Find your tile.

People of Action

Yes, Rotary at it early Saturday morning for their Adopt-A-Highway initiative. Twice a year, for the past 12 years, Rotary has picked up the garbage on the turnoff to Sackville. This year along with many, many, miscellaneous articles, we had 20 bags full. Once again ship shape for the summer.
