Six Rotarians and 1 Rotary  friend  gathered at 9 am on Sept 30 to do our 5th Adopt A Highway semi-annual clean up. We were thankful for sunny skies  as last Fall's clean up was twice rained out and we were unable to complete it.

The remarkable thing about this clean up is the fact that there was only 4 bags filled: mostly fast food containers as opposed to the 30 - 35 bags we collected when we first started the project .

It is a fact of human nature that people are less likely to litter on a clean area . And Exit 1K is spotless again . Thanks to  all who came out to help and a special thanks to Sandra Lively of Dept of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal for organizing our supplies once again .

The Fultz House Museum  again allowed us to use their property as a base of operations, which makes access to the junction easier and safer: we could not do this without their support.

We all enjoyed a well earned Tim Hortons afterwards and felt very satisfied that our area of highway is so well maintained.

Weather willing, the Spring clean up will be May 5 2018
