HWY 101 Exit 1K to Fultz House

Twice a year, Spring and Fall we have been cleaning up the interchange at junction 1K.  Now that we have done clean ups for the start of the exit ramp to Fultz House 3 times, Adopt-A Highway signs are now up at both ends.  There is generally less litter in Fall, but we are hoping that the sign will now reduce the trash that is left all year round. Read on for the report of this Spring's clean -up.....

An enthusiastic team of club members and friends donned High Visibility Jackets, and filled trash bags with a variety of litter picking tools. The snow melt unfortunately leaves behind a winters worth of trash and lost cargo which leaves junction 1K looking less than its best. As one of the main entrances to Lower Sackville, we are keen to keep it clean. Concerned about the public on a highway, RCMP officer Mike Wetzel stopped to investigate, but was happy that we were working safely and improving the area. At the end of the morning, lunch was well earned and many trash bags were left by for Adop-A-Highway staff to collect. No rare coins or antiques this time, but we found a $10 bill. - We will be back in the Fall looking for treasure and trash!
