This morning Tanya Wiltshire came and shared with us the work that is done at the Nova Scotia Securities Commission. She explained how companies and individuals who sell securities have to be vetted and regulated in order to raise funds or trade in Nova Scotia. There are similar organizations in each province and they work together to protect Canadians. The NSCC can help individuals who have complaints or feel they have been the victim of fraud. Her team of 19 ensure that we are educated and informed and she warned particularly of the "Binary Option" which is a current scam that is particularly targeting Facebook users.
