Hugh Mackay spoke to us at the meeting this week about Doors Open Halifax. Doors Open is a concept started in Glasgow, Scotland where heritage or other buildings, not usually opened to the public are made available for visits and tours. 2016 is the 4th year for Halifax where around 30 buildings including the Clock Tower, Keith's Brewery, Province House, The Neptune Theater and many buildings of worship will be open free of charge and brought to life by volunteers. There are 40+ programs in Canada, in Halifax it is run without government funding, on a small budget and with the help of  400 + volunteers. Look out for the full listings of buildings open on 4th & 5th June 2016 on www.doorsopenhalifax.com, it is REALLY worth a visit!!
