The District Conference is a chance to meet up with old friends from around our district which comprises Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and St. Pierre et Miquelon . It also gives us the chance to reflect on our Rotary year and be inspired by speakers who are making a real difference to the world. We were also delighted to be awarded a Gold Presidential Citation, recognition for how much we have grown as a club in the last 12 months..............

We set up an booth and offered a literacy pack to all the attending clubs so they could
easily start a literacy project in their communities. A prize basket was offered as an
incentive and was won by our good friends at Halifax Harbourside.  We hope they auction
it for funds for dictionaries!

The day opened with flags piped in to the main conference hall. The flags were carried
by our inbound youth exchange students, young people aged between 15 and 18 who
have left their home countries to have one year of high school study around our District.
They stay with host families while they are here and are sponsored
and supported by Rotary.

The exchange students took over the film and IT departments at NSCC to put
together a presentation sharing their experiences since they arrived last August. Cold and
Snow was mentioned more than once!

Confirmation that we had earned a gold Presidential Citation. Our Interact Club is too
new to qualify  this year but hopefully we will both be getting awards next year!
